Shelly's Story
Life
I got married in 1987, and divorced 20 years later. I have two kids: A son (20), and a daughter (19). I also have a cat.
In 1987, I moved to Virginia, got a diploma in Paralegal Studies, and later a BA in Criminal Justice Administration.
I have worked as a Juvenile Probation Officer/Case Manager, Adjunct Spanish Instructor, and outreach counselor/advocate for victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
I won a battle against cancer. (Hodgkin's lymphoma-in remission since 2003- THAN...Expand for more
K GOD!) Please DO NOT SMOKE (I wasn't a smoker) and take care. (Don't forget to LIVE STRONG!!!)
On May of 2007 I had the honor of being chosen to travel to Washington D.C. to meet Lance Armstrong, (along with over 200 cancer survivors and advocates) with the goal of presenting new legislation to congress that will help fund cancer treatment and provide resources for those living with it.
We have come a long way and we will continue to make progress.
